Frequently Asked Questions

Do you disassemble the vehicle before vinyl wrap or paint protection film?

Although the level of disassembly does vary from vehicle to vehicle, the most commonly removed pieces are the door handles, headlights, and taillights. Some vehicles will require a bit more disassembly but that would be assessed upon your consultation.

How long does a typical vinyl wrap last?

The typical lifespan of a vinyl wrap when properly maintained would be around 5-7 years if garaged when not in use and about 3-5 years if parked outside.

How long will you need my car?

Typically, a full color change vinyl wrap or full paint protection will take about 2 weeks. Partial front and full front paint protection packages are typically done within 2-3 days.

Can I still run my car through the drive through car wash?

Here at TWS we never recommend going through the local “Scratch n' Shine.” The lack of maintenance on the equipment combined with the cheap carnauba-based products are a quick guaranteed way to ruin your vehicle. Although Vinyl Wrap and Paint Protection Film have self-healing technology it is unnecessary to exacerbate the self-healing properties as they will diminish over time from repeated abuse.

How should I wash/maintain my car now that it is wrapped?

Hand washing should really be the only method used when washing your car, regardless if its wrapped or painted.

Can you ceramic coat a wrapped/ppf vehicle?

Most definitely! This is something we always recommend as it will add an additional layer of protection to your vehicle and keep your wrap looking newer for longer.

What happens to my paint after the vinyl is removed?

Your paint underneath the vinyl wrap will be completely unaffected and look the same as the day the vinyl was installed. Essentially you get 3-7 year protection and customization all in one!
